Head Gone (feat. Fox)

A 2 track uk funky single (8m 54s) — released June 18th 2012 on Fat City

Manchester's basement dwelling duo DJs Samrai and Platt AKA Swing Ting are back with another slice of toughened bashment x grime madness, laced masterfully by the vocals of local legend Fox.

A production outfit, club night and label, Swing Ting specialise in creating serious vibes, using their notorious sessions in the Soup Kitchen basement to showcase the finest in UK sounds, focusing on bashment, grime, funky and dancehall. Their debut as a production team came with a deadly refix of Mosca's Tilt Shift on Manchester's Fat City Recordings, followed late last year by a 12" of their own material also for the Manchester based imprint.

June will see a second independent release with lead track Head Gone sure to provide a much needed alternate source of heat over the reliably disappointing summer months. Raucous, intense and with a spartan toughness, Fox's sharply delivered bars rise above the dissonance to provide irresistible forward momentum.

Manchester veteran Chimpo comes with a typically bombastic remix on the flip. Notoriously adept at handling vocals and no stranger to a Swing Ting party, Chimpo comes at the original with an eski style, using raw bass pulses and well crafted lead synths to a seriously potent end.

DJ support comes from Illum Sphere, Jon K, Wifey Dj's; Ralph LTF and Robn, Murlo, The Elementz, Tamasine, DJ Barely Legal and The Heatwave.. Radio plays include Rinse Fm, Deja-vu Fm and Nasty Fm.
