Peter Kruder - Private Collection

A 17 track leftfield/idm album (1h 19m 34s) — released May 16th 2011 on G-stone

Peter Kruder's Private Collection is the first volume in the new Private Collection Master Series from G-Stone - it also marks 15 years for the label. And in another first, Private Collection is also the first mix that Peter Kruder has released since the landmark K+D Sessions, which has now gone on to sell a staggering 1 million copies worldwide! As well as K+D, Peter also works and produces under the name Peace Orchestra, Voom Voom and produces for artists such as Christian Prommer. Fame as Kruder + Dorfmeister has seen him remix such artists as Madonna and Depeche Mode. The idea behind the Private Collection series is just that - it showcases some of the artists favourite tracks and others that have influenced their own music and productions. Key artists on the compilation include Tom Waits (many will recognise the track as the theme from HBO's The Wire!) Talk Talk, Tortoise, Japan and Kruder+Dorfmeister themselves. "This compilation collection spans my entire life searching for music that makes a difference, sounds unique and ultimately provides a huge and ever growing inspiration to whatever I did, and still do on my own path making music." "These tunes are played over and over again in my home, for listening pleasure to my friends, or whenever needed also for re-evaluation of a certain quality before it is let out into the world for everybody else to hear. It was a rather huge task to select these songs out of the 35,000 pieces of vinyl that make up my collection. There are a lot of great memories buried within these vinyl walls that fill up my home. In the end it boiled down to seventeen pieces each one telling a story for and about me. In my world they are absolute masterpieces that should be exhibited in museums and listened to on the finest sound systems money can afford. More than that I wished I wrote some of them myself but I am just grateful that someone else did it for me."
