To some it must seem like this young electronic producer came out of nowhere this year but those in the know have been following Emancipator since his first album, "Soon It Will Be Cold Enough", at the age of 19 in 2006, released by the highly acknowledged Hydeout Productions label, in Japan. His agile melodies layered over headnodic, immaculately-produced beats captivated fans across the internet and the real world.
Emancipator is Douglas Appling, who is joined by violinist Ilya Goldberg on stage. His music is for fans of Bonobo & Nujabes.
With the release of his newest album,Dusk To Dawn, the music offers listeners a nostalgic return to the soulful integration of organic hip hop and symphonic layers that first captivated his steadily growing audience.

Emancipator sold out over 20 headlining shows in 2012, including venues like San Francisco's Mezzanine, NYC's Highline Ballroom and Denver's Ogden Theater, was praised by The New York Times and toured with Pretty Lights. 2013 started off with his 44 date North American tour to be followed by his very first European Tour in April
