Double Positive EP

A 4 track acid jazz ep (16m 51s) — released July 17th 2006 on Take The Money and Run Records
Take The Money And Run Records are back from a short hiatus with this EP by the fabulously titled Joey Yeah Yeah. Discovered in the Lancashire backwaters of Burnley, JYY grew up on the same estate as Tru-Thoughts beat monkey Diesler. It must be something that they put in the water up there because Joey plunders the same bright-eyed, cut up funk as his fellow Burnleyite, and they'll be bottling that water soon if the tunes on this EP are anything to go by! From the Latin lothario narrating 'They Call Me The Doctor ' to the sliced blues scat on 'Taproom Drama' the dial is firmly set to FUN throughout the four tracks. We're Doubly Positive that you'll enjoy Joey Yeah Yeah's EP! Dom Servini (SNC/Wah Wah 45's) Yep. Got it, and really liking it especially the first track charted it at www.wahwah45s.com Christian Kerr (The Crack Magazine) Yeahman! I got it and i thoroughly love its phat phunk pants and all round good-tastiness! There'll be a review going in next month's The Crack, out in a coupla weeks. Alan Gubby (Nanny Tango/ Blast FM) Cheek squeezingly good production! I played the 'Miss...dancing shoes's)' on Nanny Tango radio last week. Cookshop Recordings (Morning Glory/Juice FM: Brighton) All quality production, dancefloor funk/breaks/latin booty-wiggling action...Favourite track is 'They Call Me The Doctor' which I've been playing out and about ever since we got the record, plus been giving said track weekly spins on our radio show! All in all, a well rounded EP of cheeky dancefloor fun that's the perfect accompaniment for burning burgers on the BBQ to and getting nifty in the disco with. Nik Weston (Mukatsuku) I'm playing A1: Low slung afro groove. Strictly Kev (DJ Food) Not a bad debut. 'Call Me Doctor' is OK. Good production throughout, but is lacking something I can't quite put me finger on. Flevans (Tru-Thoughts/Jack To Phono) Overall a bit of a mixed bag - not really feeling A1 or B1, but really enjoying A2 and B2. B2 is for me the standout track here - love the bassline and feel of the track...will be a definate warm-up track in my next few sets.'
