The Remixes

A 3 track leftfield/idm single (18m 50s) — released April 4th 2011 on Vinyl Vibes

After the great feedback for Ye:solà rs first release we were more than happy to get two of the finest young talents in current club music business to present their own visions of the original tracks. Inverse Cinematics (aka Danilo Plessow of later Motor City Drum Ensemble fame) and Eva Be both asked for the possibility of remixing Ye:solà r tunes. This enthusiasm for the musical material is splendidly reflected in the amazing results. Radio played by Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio 1), Richard Dorfmeister (Tripple J/Austria), Michael Rütten (Compost Radio Show), Alan Brown (Play FM/Austria), MR. Scruff (Juice 107.2 FM/Brighton), Kid Loco (Radio Loco) a.o. Magazine reviews: Big favourites of these pages, Stuttgart’s Inverse Cinematics, turn out an absolutely firing rework of this double-bass heavy jazz/house offering from a few months back. If you don’t remember, the original was very much in an early Zero db vein, and the young German duo have created a dance floor monster with their almost tribal rendition. More top class music from Karsten John’s fresh imprint. (Straight No Chaser Magazine Summer 2005) On Vinyl Vibes’ website, tastemaker DJ/producer Rainer Trüby praises Ye:Solar’s own Tanzflachen Remix on this EP. Justifiably so, as it melds broken house rhythms with flip-flopping basslines and sparse analog beats-a vibe that conjures drunken Saturday nights that blur hazily into Sunday mornings. Eva Be’s Eggme Remix is head-turning bizarro reggae-cum-hip-house, while Inverse Cinematics’s Abi 05 Remix is rock solid broken business with heavy percussion. Sorry Rainer-it’s my pick of the lot! (Derek Grey XLR8R Magazine 08/05) Quotes: I love these fuckin’ remixes! N°1 on my chart! Your label is on the map! (FredBNx/Zimpala) Lovely stuff . Cinematic mix is dope. Will play it for sure (Alex Attias/Compost Records) Ye:solà r remix is dope! (Michael Reinboth/Compost Records)
