Falter

A 5 track adult alternative ep (29m 59s) — released January 28th 2013 on Blind Colour

Rounds are a British trio, consisting of Andrew Chapman (guitar, synths), Robert Cooper (vocals, synths) and Ashley Kemp (drums, sampler). Rounds have developed into an unique electronic act, whose live set up incorporates drums, synths and live vocals with a large array of digital instrumentation. Their intricate melodies and beats are influenced by their far reaching musical background and the development of the UK bass scene over the last couple of years. Their debut EP, Escapist, came out on Austrian label Moun10 in July 2012 and received great reviews in NME, Dummy and XLR8 amongst others. Their next EP release 'Falter' on new London-based alternative/soul label Blind Colour incorporates more of Robert's vocals as well as wider alternative influences - somewhere between Radiohead, ambient house and bass music. The release also features a remix from Nottingham's talented up-and-coming live post-dubstep act Atlas (Coja/Symbols Recordings).

Rounds are what Kieran Hebden would sound like if he started running a yoga studio-based shamanic service where instead of serving up intense hallucinogens like Ayuhasca he opted for sniffing stinky marker pens. - NME Press

UK trio Rounds (a.k.a. Andrew Chapman, Robert Cooper, and Ashley Kemp) has prepared its debut release for burgeoning label moun10, the six-track Escapist EP. The first leak from the record, - XLR8 Press/Blog

A tip of the cap must go to Bird On The Wire for sourcing the talent though. Supporting both of the aforementioned acts who’ve crossed the pond to get here were London-based Rounds, who we sneakily managed to catch stocking up on a well-deserved takeaway after their set. Hailing from London, Rounds create lush soundscapes supported by heavy synths and pulsating drumbeats. They employ a DIY approach to performing, covering all bases by sampling, mixing and playing instruments themselves. Very refreshing at a gig where Macs are the mains supply. - Human Drizzle Blog

I found something fantastic amidst my daily Soundcloud trawl today, a new track from rounds. The London-based trio released their debut The Escapist EP just last month via moun10 and that kind of took my breath away. - In Love Not Limbo Blog

“Vienna seems quite on the move over the last couple of years. The club scene is really getting strong, some interesting festivals popped up established themselves and even on the label side, movements can be noted. The latest label out the Alps is Moun10, and last Friday teamed up with his growing rooster to play Viennese club Pratersauna. London trio Rounds (who debuted on the label) played their first live gig outside UK, with Portugese producer IVVVO and XXXY DJing till the sun came out. The six-hour sound scape installation by London-based artist Nural Moser showed the labels ambition to not only explore club music, but also reach out to other dimensions of audio/visual concepts. Great night, great start for a new and promising label.” - Dummy Blog
