Grows Fins
A 2 track single () — released July 21st 2008 on Bumpman Records
'Grow Fins' is the follow up to there debut single 'Chateau', which was released on Bumpman Records in February this year, earning strong, early support from Steve Lamacq and Zane Lowe - winning both their
listener votes on their Radio1 and BBC 6 Music shows separately -plus rave reviews from the NME, The Fly, Drowned In Sound and many others.
The song was recorded and produced at Flood's bedroom studio in West London, where the band used some rather unconventional instrumentation, including the use of their homemade 'rockenspiel' (made from a small wooden glockenspiel bought on ebay) and the drum parts being performed solely on drum cases. The end result is a lovingly nurtured, and charmingly shambolic sound that is full of the band's personality and edge.
The scuzzy blues-folk quartet have taken their splendidly raucous live shows on the road, and are currently supporting fellow London rock'n'rollers Vincent Vincent and the Villains on their UK tour, which they'll follow with a clutch of boutique festivals this summer, including Secret Garden Party, Belladrum and Blissfields:
