Endless Summer
A 1 track electronic single (3m 8s) — released May 9th 2025 on Drowned By Locals
Content Provider
Endless Summer
out on digital, cassette and postcard via Bokeh Versions and Drowned By Locals on 6th June
Love in the time of collectively assured techno-capitalist-nuclear holocaust! It's the endless
summer the Brits have been harping on about since they think they won the World Cup. The
soundtrack is the debut album of the Content Provider; where Octatrack illbient and industrial
chanson mesh in a singed postcard addressed to the UK Border Force and co-signed by aliens
plucked from the petri dishes of Young Echo, Cold Light and Avon Terror Corps.
It's a name she tried to keep anonymous, but Drowned By Locals and Bokeh Versions are
breaking contract to reveal that the Content Provider is in fact the shock production alias of
DALI DE SAINT PAUL. Patron saint of Bristol's self-destructive improv idols EP/64 as well as
post-feminist chamber collective Viridian Ensemble, avant-terror duo Harrga and constant
collaborator with the likes of *breathe* Moor Mother, Valentina Magaletti, Mariam Rezaei,
Vincent Moon, Maxwell Sterling, Ossia, Ben Vince.
And isn't it such a strange release? And won't people be surprised? Endless Summer is grubby
and heartfelt, defiant and hopeful, with flecks of warped reggae on E-System nudging the
freeform dream balladry of A Feeling and Sunday Morning, Kode9 & Spaceape-worthy dread
poetry of Close Ur Eyes next to anthemic electro-crush of Overdrive. Even to those that know
her well, and EVERYONE with their belly in the Bristol underground knows her, Endless
Summer is a revelation. Perhaps the apex of the known Dali-verse……where her live gigs have
boiled with an experimental volcanic vocal force, Endless Summer is twisted, syrupy, sultry,
POP.

In the words of the Content Provider herself:
"The CONTENT PROVIDER project is the way I thumb my nose to the music industry using an
alias as producer. I'd like to show that I'm not only a vocalist but a musician and that I can
produce beats too, asking a few vocalists/ MCs to do featuring - I like the idea of being the
woman who is making men sing, (when for so long, they have been making me do the singing).
What can you do with a new tool ? Explore and create with it ! In December 2019, an Octatrack
landed in the house and many tutorials later the music on this tape emerged from January 2020
to December 2022, using only the samples in the machine, all a bit old school. In September
2022, a specific track blossomed, composed after a beautiful stay near the ocean, a track full of
love and joy, affirming and celebrating these feelings in a dystopian climate : "Endless Summer"
! This track was literally craving to be shared and released, marking the beginning of
ContentProvider's adventure. Many chats later, Franco Franco, and Matt Light offered their help
and expertise to record and mix these 10 selected tracks, and Dylan Mallett to master; then
Content Provider's love boat welcomed MC's D. Ham, Franco Franco, Birthmark and
ManOnMars, all happy to throw their own words on beats. Some magic happened when one
day experimenting with pedals and fx, Dali ended up improvising "A Feeling" and recorded it
straight on her phone. Another love song from 2024, rendering the urgency in getting back to
love and desire. Love that despite creating inner confusion, warms hearts and greatly increases
one's strength like "Overdrive" asserts. We live in a strange time : we belong to places, and this
album strongly belongs to Bristol -"E-system"-, where life is harsher for many. Gentrified,
overcrowded cities are getting cold and loneliness is palpable in people's eyes -"The Urban
Solitude"-. Getting a new vision, a fresh philosophy to lead our path through -"Walking Home"
- or just having a break from grimland, picturing oneself on a quest, like in a video game -
"Abe's Flamenco" - can be a relief. Endless Summer is somehow an invitation to shift somewhere
else, because it's impossible not to be damaged nowadays playing "their" game, a gateway to
escape is needed, sometimes stand aside "Close Ur Eyes" or just lose oneself on dancefloors
"This Music", evade and dream again about love for others : lovers, friends…cherish the joy of
being together and alive when dawn arrives on a "Sunday Morning", then vanish in a dream.
Content Provider is a side project from raw experimental vocalist Dali de Saint Paul."
"Do not think that one has to be sad in order to be an activist, even though the thing one is
fighting is abominable."
Michel Foucault, foreword Anti-Oedipus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia by Gilles Deleuze et
Felix Guattari (1972)
