The Lion Heart
A 3 track techno | broken ep (17m 29s) — released November 1st 2024 on Eye Dow Recordings
Back searching the outer regions of their music making, Ido Plumes presents the next in his self release series with another two sonically twinned oddities of slung-out dance music along with a debut remix by Emily Jeanne.
Starting with New York Diesel, the first sonic plunge into Plumes seemingly trying to figure out his cryptic ear worms. Filing them into clear agitated progressive grooves, tricked out sound design and holistic melodics as usual. The same pent up energy transpires over to Two Six Five as Ido taps into his deep polyrhythmic tendencies for a tripped out strut through a temporary cosmos with the slow, synthetic but equally organic step of Two Six Five. Both with a consistent grunge-tek feel tied up in Plumes' recognisable trinkets and depth and are definitely sonic marching powder for any point of the trip.
Emily Jeanne debuts their remix abilities via a sped up formulaic and functional take of Two Six Five, Jeanne somewhat 'make sense' of the chaos with a pointillist, glitchy and deconstructed version of the oddball slow jam rounding off the EP.
The Lion Heart will always be a worthy comrade.
