Tolerance (feat. LYAM)

A 1 track leftfield/idm single (3m 40s) — released April 25th 2025 on GETME!

GETME! announces its latest release – the punchy Lixo X LYAM single 'Tolerance'. Ethereal and percussive, with lithe, silky vocals over a shuffling bass line, 'Tolerance' is as dynamic and innovative a club focused track as you would expect from a collaboration between LYAM, one of British alternative club rap's most mysterious and elusive artists, and Lixo, "a pretty magnificent DJ and producer" (DUMMY). It's exactly the kind of "erratic, spacey and downright powerful music that GETME! is all about" (MIXMAG).
Lixo is the production alias of Alex Hislop, renowned founder of the influential London party collective, GETME!. "Once the blushing young debutante of UK dance culture, the label has become a revered hub for new music, a showcase for underground styles" (Clash). With a back catalogue already spanning 20 records — including key releases from the likes of Lil Jabba, Trim, Slime, Becoming Real and Dam Mantle — and appearances on Rinse FM, NTS, Radar, Balamii and 1Xtra, over the past 16 years GETME! has established itself at the heart of London's progressive music scene. Lixo's previous EPs and singles and releases have garnered support from radio heavyweights Benji B, Mary Anne Hobbs, Toddla T, Huw Stephens and Jamz Supernova. Lixo also creates bespoke composition and sound design and has worked with MIU MIU, Alexander McQueen, Lanvin, Cav Empt and Nike.

Visionary rapper and musician LYAM is one of the UK underground music scene's most mysterious and innovative artists. He was a founding member of the hugely influential and enigmatic TTY (The The Youth), a radical collective of musicians and artists whose members included John Glacier, producer Ethan P. Flynn and indie-rapper Jeshi. Signed to Young, they hosted an NTS show, held infamous parties and released an album. After four consciously fallow years, he came roaring out of the blocks again in 2024 with the showstopping single '2 HOT 4 THIS', before releasing his second artist album. The visionary 'The Art Letting Go' is his masterpiece, seeing him collaborate once again with John Glacier and underground artists such as Hanabii and Ney Liqa, New York's Ratking and super-producer Mura Masa.

As a producer himself, LYAM has released abstract club cuts on Matthew Herbert's Accidental Records in collaboration with Damos Room. Signed to Warp Publishing, LYAM created his own label W3LY2 (weloveyoutoo) to release his new mixtape. It's no surprise then that 'Tolerance' is a typically inventive and set stealing track. LYAM's supple flow, with its piles of quotables, folds in genres from post-punk to breakbeat jungle, all with a rain-flecked cinematic luminosity centred on his lithe bars. While Lixo, known for his "trippy, fizzing and bubbly" sounds (Mixmag),builds on the sonic the imagination seen in previous tracks like 'Gloomer' ("a floaty production packing a few punches, but melodious enough to act as an audio painkiller" Mixmag), and 'Writers Block' (a "pounding sonic onslaught" Clash; "bold and glimmering ... a beautiful, sun- dazed cut" Mixmag).
