"Northern Soul" depicts a desperate, night-time search for connection through a grim northern town climaxing with a chorus where Sarakula emphatically (or desperately if that word is too fancy!) pleads the listener with the iconic lyric: '"I wanna touch your northern soul". With the original vinyl pressing by Heavy Soul Records (UK) a rarity now with enterprising Discogs users selling copies for ridiculous prcies and with the video having racked up more than 200,000 views on Youtube, Sarakula has definitely touched some Northern Souls with this song and the time is right for this re-mastered digital and 45 release.
The B-side is an Italo vis NY-Disco styled favourite from the "Love Club" album, called "Coney Island Getaway".
