The Count In Cologne

A 10 track alternative rap/hip-hop album (7m 20s) — released September 1st 2014 on Melting Pot

Legendary american indie rapper/producer Count Bass D teams up with Cologne Melting Pot Music / Hi-Hat Club crew members Twit One, Lazy Jones & Retrogott for a special mini album!

Last summer the Radio Love Love crew invited Count Bass D to their annual Sommerfest in Cologne. The legendary Atlanta-based MC/producer stayed for two weeks. He did not only play a rad show at the Sommerfest but hung out at the Treehouse with Twit One, Retrogott and Lazy Jones. The EP "The Count in Cologne" captures the best moments of these sessions which were fueled by a mutal love and respect for each other and the artform. On five songs (plus one bonus beat and instrumentals) Count, Retrogott, Twit and Lazy are exchanging beats and rhymes, rapping over each other cuts back to back or solo. "The Count in Cologne" is - pardon the cliche - real hip-hop at it's best. Cologne film maker Phila Demi followed Count Bass D with her camera and filmed a very watchable short documentary: Count Bass D In Cologne (Splash! Mag TV)

About Count Bass D:

Born Dwight Conroll Farell, his father - a West Indian Minister - encouraged him to play music at his church at the age of four. Count learned to play piano, organ and bass. In 1994 a demo tape caught the attention of Prime Minister Pete Nice of 3rd Bass which led to a deal with Chaos / Sony. His debut-album "Pre-Life Crisis" was released in 1995 and flopped. In 2002 Count released "Dwight Spitz", an album that many consider his best work to date. It was also his first album where the MPC 2000 drum machine became the main instrument (and features MF Doom and Edan). Other classic and collectable Count Bass Dee records are "Art For Sale", "Act Your Waist Size" and "Begborrowsteal"
