Krajné Čierno is an experimental improvisational group with a rotating lineup of musicians centered around core members Maroš Kovaľ, Peter Kerekeš, and Tomáš Ferko. The members switch instruments and roles with each performance, depending on the chemistry of the newly formed lineup. The ensemble can range from a trio up to an eight-piece group at times, as they often invite guest musicians to join. Each performance showcases this dynamic, creating a unique chemistry every time.
Their musical expression can shift dramatically, encompassing everything from spastic breakcore acid to doom-laden walls of drone, full-on harsh noise, and pensive free jazz. Rather than releasing traditional albums, the band focuses on documenting their live shows, capturing the essence of each performance in a single take—once it's done, it's done.
In their live recording from the Brutal Assault Festival 2019, Krajné Čierno channels unsettling moods that straddle the peculiar line between Om and early Throbbing Gristle. Underpinned by harsh, disembodied metallic percussion, the repeating gated bass guitar riffs march into the void between crashes of dissonant guitar explosions and blasts of machine noise.
