In The Round was a music project run by NX Records, at Goldsmiths University. Starting in summer 2020, we invited students from all music courses to join us in creating a record from scratch - conceptualising, composing, editing and cutting the music to vinyl.

The work began with short samples, or sound 'seeds', which were submitted anonymously into an online archive. From there the composition process was iterative, with participants processing and developing particular seeds according to randomly assigned instructions.

Over months of workshops, this mass off audio coalesced into 12 movements of music. The results are in turns meditative, cacophonous, humorous, and moving. In autumn 2023, 10 copies of the album were cut to dubplate at Planet Wax in New Cross, marking an end to the project.
