Quiet Revelry

A 6 track singer-songwriter ep (19m 21s) — released December 1st 2023 on Wolves Change Rivers

Golden Rabbit tells stories of self mythology and internal complexities, creating a haunting and intimate sound.

The self taught musician lives by the Japanese phrase -"wasi-sabi" ("perfection in imperfection"), allowing her intuitive approach to her work to develope naturally. Writing first on guitar, she then adds analogue synths, ukulele and various noise-makers from her 'toy-box' (a cupboard full of traditional, non-traditional, and vintage musical items collected over the years) to create well crafted British sounding recordings on vintage kit.

Her early musical influences have become a default with which she draws from time and time again…relating to the musicality and powerful femininity of Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Feist and PJ Harvey, but Golden Rabbit's well draws much deeper and you will hear in her musical references nods to alternative, folk, shoe-gaze, electronica and even choral music.

When not in the studio, Golden Rabbit likes to immerse herself in other aspects of the creative process, creating videos, and making items to accompany her music such as hand-made and painted CD's and accessories.

The first official Golden Rabbit release is "Quiet Revelry" - a self produced intimate collection of traditional and golden era Christmas songs, including one original instrumental piece. She delivers an authentic take on these well-known seasonal classics, with 'White Christmas' sounding like "the version played at a funeral for humanity after a Christmas day apocalypse." Available on 1st Dec, for streaming and downloads on all platforms, this offers a glimpse into the potential of what's to come from future releases.

Arranged, produced and recorded by Golden Rabbit.
Kit used: acoustic guitar, ukulele, Moog, Korg Monopoly, Juno 106, Prophet, Little Phatty, percussion, hand bells, vintage glockenspiel, vintage melodica.
