Pistons

A 2 track techno single (8m 32s) — released February 19th 2021 on Accidental Jnr

Mind-altering microtonal micro-sampled dancefloor vibe killer in the best possible sense with a more straightforward remix from L-Vis 1990 under his Dance System moniker. Bosh.

"Pistons" is a weird one, that's for sure. Sounding like five minutes of the CDJ stuck on 1-second emergency loop mode, it cycles through sounds, altering each kick, breath or dissonant blip into a stuck pattern of annoying-but-alluring brilliance. We can't even imagine how this would fare on the dancefloor - somewhere between catastrophic and inspired, probably - but for DJs with less confidence in their abilities, L-Vis 1990 has provided banging Dance System remix that supplements the loopy chatter of the original with tuff acid portamento and neatly saturated Chicago-style drumloopz. It basically sounds like a fucked 'Percolator' CD in a broken car stereo, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
