Tom Russell AKA Truss debuts on Avian under his MPIA3 alias.
The R&S affiliate makes a dry, abrasive contribution to the label catalogue - high energy Gabba kick drums are paired with super effective no frills synth work to devastating effect. It's a masterclass in heavy duty club fare that does away with the subtlety and texture favoured by artists on the label up to this point. Every sound - though it must be noted that there can't be more than four tracks per recording - is driven to the max and engineered purely for the dance floor.
A side WTTP is perhaps the more introspective of the pair, but the energy is still extraordinary. Casual Welding is a fitting title for the B side - here's a piece of music born in the furnace. Face melting kicks go head to head with a fuck you acid line and deranged synth lead. Heady stuff.credits
