JMJ Recordings are excited to present to you the first remix of Maya Blandy's debut release 'Stardust' featuring Kathy Brown.

Remixed by Camden Cassa, in collaboration with Jake Wherry (founding member and producer of the UK hip-hop pioneers, The Herbaliser) it was on one bleak January day in 2023, American house and disco legend Kathy Brown was recording a session for Camden Cassa in Jake's studio and, it was during a break that he played her Stardust. She loved it so much, she started singing along and Jake, once he had picked his jaw off the floor, asked if he could record her. Now Kathy's distinctive voice and powerful vocalisations add an extra layer of magic and complete the song.

Given the serendipity of how Kathy came to feature on the track, it seemed only appropriate for Camden Cassa to make the first remix, in collaboration with Jake, who added a super funky disco bassline, strings and percussion. Very much a family affair, as Camden Cassa is married to Jake's cousin, Louisa, and Jake's eldest son, George, laid down the classical guitar that gives the remix its summery Balearic vibe.

Camden Cassa is an exciting new artist from Liverpool who has recently gained support from huge artists such as Defected's Offaiah, Toolroom's Mark Knight and Idris Elba. Camden's style varies from disco to piano and tech house, and recently signed a 5-track deal with the mighty Vicious Recordings sub label Exceed after a recent remix for Australian star DeSaint went to Number 7 in the ARIA club charts.
