Atreyu (feat. Luke Wynter, Amane & Al Macsween)
Chiminyo is a drummer and producer from North London who gained a reputation for his solo project. Using self-coded software, every drum hit and cymbal crash triggers synths and samples, granting Chiminyo unparalleled creative control and liberating his performances from loops, click-tracks, and backing tracks. His groundbreaking solo album, "I Am Panda," garnered widespread acclaim, earning him the Jazzwise Digital award and a Worldwide FM award nomination
Uniri, coined by chiminyo, means "one unified dream" and really encapsulates his approach to crafting this extraordinary musical venture. The project materialised in Chiminyo's studio, where he invited exceptional musicians Amane Tsuganami (Jorja Smith, Maisha), Al Macsween (Nubya Garcia, Gary Bartz, Kefaya), and Luke Wynter (Nubyan Twist, Golden Mean) to engage in spontaneous improvisations and collective composition.
Chiminyo & Uniri follow up to their debut album (released in march 2024) with Atreyu. Chiminyo & Uniri have received support from tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson, Jamz Supernova, Somewhere Soul, time garcia & Tina Edwards over the last year and have been played on BBC radio 6, Jazz FM, soho radio, ballami, nts and rinse fm.
