A local to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nick has been involved in the electronic music scene since the mid-90s. Known mostly for live hardware techno sets, Nick spent years making broken beats as Vasculator, spaced-out techno as 1/2 of Untethered, and gutter-dipped "dub" as 1/2 of Gnarled Horse Throat. In 2022, a virus of some sort made percussive transients and loud sounds difficult to tolerate. This resulted in a shift to deeper listening music not aimed at the dancefloor. A trip to Asia served as the catalyst for the recordings.

"During a trip to Japan and Taiwan, including a mind-blowing visit to Kenninji Temple in Kyoto, my mind started to flood with ideas. Upon coming back home I was asked to play a live set for the first time since the hearing issues started, so I began to cautiously work again, albeit at a very low volume. The show went well, and I was left with a number of sketches that pointed at a direction I wanted to keep exploring. After setting a deadline for the 1-year anniversary of the trip to Asia, I ended up with a nearly complete album in front of me. Nobody but my cat Miggy heard a single note until it was done. Thanks to some encouragement from John Elliott, a demo was passed on to Old Technology, and now here we are. I'm deeply honored to join such an incredible roster of musicians and I hope this work resonates with you somehow."

Nothing Left To Dissolve” radiates a soft patience where sounds ebb and flow in amorphous cycles. Each track is its own tessellation made of decaying space and clever patchwork which form lush and layered minimal structures. - John Elliott Emeralds/Imaginary Softwoods
