Dark, heavy, ravishing. That is how one could describe Existence, the second album by Fokular - one of the most resolute figures on the contemporary experimental scene in Slovakia. On his second album on Weltschmerzen, Fokular reveals yet again his roots in the sludge // doom // stoner band Möbius, where, as one half of the duo, he pounds the drums. Fokular's electronic sound is just as intense and uncompromising—filled with darkness and a creeping, mysterious intensity.
Very deep, very down, very dark—but honest, raw, and cruel as fuck. Existence would serve flawlessly as a soundtrack for urban exploration of crumbling ruins, industrial alleys, or dystopian landscapes. Monumental sonic paintings mapping the torn nature of human existence in the best possible way. That's Fokular's new album Existence—an atmosphere straight out of Silent Hill.
