I Will / Will You?

Czech-born Misha Chylkova has been a Londoner all her adult life. It's there that she fell in love with music and started playing as a part of London's Antifolk scene. Misha makes a pulsating, hypnotic and beautifully dark music. Obsessed with repetition and simplicity she creates subtle spells that creep up and wrap around your heart.

I Will/Will You? is the debut single from Misha Chylkova. It features two perfect sibling songs that deal with the effects of break up and loss.

On 'I Will' the wounds are fresh and the absence of love eventually feeds into a song about resolve. Precise, minimal arpeggios slowly grow into a beguiling rapture.

'Will You?' has a blacker heart and has Misha ruminating on destructive feelings of jealousy. There is a surface tension that never breaks, everything here is trembling and fragile. The voice teases the listener with a beautiful explosion that is better imagined than seen.

Misha refined her art in London's underground music scene working amongst artists like The Awkward Silences, David Cronenberg's Wife and Extradition Order.

On this single Misha's stark metronomic guitar and plaintive vocals are backed by Darren Hayman (Hefner) on bass and piano and Ian Button (Death in Vegas, Thrashing Doves, Papernut Cambridge) on drums. The single was produced by Jon Clayton at One Cat Recording Studios.

Misha's influences include Low, Suicide and Marianne Faithful.
