Itchy Teeth and Papernut Cambridge met at Glas Goes Pop in Summer 2022 via their mutual friend Lawrence. [Papernut's Ian Button had produced Go Kart Mozart's 2018 album Mozart's Mini Mart, and Itchy Teeth had just become part of Lawrence's latest incarnation Mozart Estate.]
Charlie, Xav and Oli from the Teeth began talks with Button about releasing their own next EP on Gare Du Nord, and the result is their 5-track Popularity Contest EP released on January 13th 2023.
They also hatched a plan for a bonus 'remix swap' single to follow, and the results are in.
Button has constructed am extended sequencer-pop Papernut club version of Itchy Teeth's 'She Believes in Everything' from the EP, while Hannah has forged a futuristic cartoon Itchy hyper pop trap mix of Papernut Cambridge's 'La Cucina', from their 2023 album release Channel Suite.
