FXU2 have collected all nine of their WORMZ tracks on the new album, WORMZ Pts 1 - 9. Recording in Kent and London, Robert Halcrow (Picturebox, TWINK & Papernut Cambridge) and Jack Hayter (Hefner, Non-Blank and Papernut Cambridge) began their 80s r'n'b inspired collaboration in 2016. Their first two albums received airplay on FM4, WFMU's Atlantic Tunnel and Big Bubble Radio. In addition, MYSTIFY and CALL ON ME made it onto Yoghurt Pot's Eclectic Unsigned Playlist, while WORMZ Pt 2 was singled out by Fresh On The Net's Signal Committee.

On the new album, listeners can follow the varied paths and dead ends of the WORMZ theme, from the spiky electro of Pt 1, via the children's TV Pt 4 (EARTHWORM), 60s psych singalong of Pt 5 (GARDEN), to the 26 min bells and whistles of the aptly named Pt 9 (A LONG ONE). Highlights include the Yellow Magic Orchestra-esque Pt 6 (DIET OF WORMZ), featuring Martin Luther's 16th c. text recited over jagged guitar before lush lap steel takes over. WORMZ Pt 9 (A LONG ONE) combines elements of Soft Machine/Canterbury Scene, Cornershop, Steve Reich and Allen Ginsberg (musically) in its 26 mins plus.

Roland TR-77 and 808, wah, organ and lap steel guitar dominate these often wordless tracks, on which Robert Halcrow and Jack Hayter have taken FXU2 in a bold, new direction.
