Simon Klein is a painter and musician whose influences include Syd Barrett to Dark Side of the Moon era Pink Floyd, with a cle­­ar love for the Beatles, and a touch of Canterbury scene whimsy. His own voice is that of an Englishman with a taste for Gallic pop. Jazz and 20th century classical records are piled high in his painting studio but he wouldn't dare claim their influence on his 'only Rock 'n' Roll'.

Ben Reed joined him and Andy Social in the band Skrawl, later morphing into 'Simon Klein' with Tom Mapes. They recorded 2 albums - My World and Puppet - both on Monk Club records. The Monk Club was Simon's own alternative music and 'sound of people hitting toys' music club that ran for 7 years out of a West London basement, with the help, among others, of music journalist Mark Paytress. Having released 'Sunny Misty Morning' as a single with a video shot on early smart phone, Simon and Ben then recorded a home produced double album, Coming Home on a Tascam 4 track cassette player.

Now, with long time associate and friend Patrick Wood, Simon is moving into pastures green with forthcoming album Will You Marry Me.
