Something About You
A 2 track alternative single (5m 41s) — released May 20th 2022 on Gare du Nord Records
Cult Figures latest single SOMETHING ABOUT YOU c/w BOREDOM CLUB features two previously unreleased songs recorded during the sessions for their highly acclaimed Deritend album, released in 2021.
The songs are being released as the band's salute to their original vocalist, founder, and the man responsible for giving the band its name – Gary Jones, who sadly passed away on March 4th 2022 after battling with cancer. Cult Figures will be dedicating all their work from now on to his memory.
SOMETHING ABOUT YOU is a timely punky rant against figures of authority who have bitten off more than they can chew but still choose to choke on their ill-advised gorging.
BOREDOM CLUB – there's one in every town. Written back in 1979 in the original incarnation of the band as a punk thrash, but reconstituted in the 21st century as a country/skiffle hoedown. The band released a live version of this track in 2016 - this version has the full production treatment – pub chatter, whistles, an exchange between bartender and customer, and a beery belch!
Proceeds from the single will be donated to St Joseph's Hospice in Hackney, East London.
Both tracks were mixed and produced by John Rivers.

They’ve cut a corking collection which sums up the state of the nation in the UK in 2021 as well as any I’ve heard recently. - Louder Than War Previous album review
The trick is that they still have great songs and the melodies are strong and catchy, while the lyrics and arrangements reflect their desire to remain different. - Fear And Loathing Previous album review
