The third album from Cork band Boa Morte sees them infuse their brand of slow-burning, alternative folk with elements of electronic, ambient and new-classical music. The album was recorded in 2018 at Herbert Place Studios, Dublin, with James Darkin producing and engineering.

Boa Morte came together at the start of 1998, rising from the dust of a couple of ragged but respected local indie bands. Over the course of an EP and two album releases between 2001 and 2009 the band gigged extensively, playing with the likes of Teenage Fanclub, Calexico and Howe Gelb.

Before There Was Air is their first release since 2009's The Dial Waltz album which came out on their own Kicking A Can label. Gare Du Nord Records is very pleased to welcome them aboard for this latest outing!
